Jimmy Deane

Jimmy grew up in Bath and went on to play for eleven years for
then Amateur club starting in the 80s. During this successful
period he went on to make nearly 100 first team appearances being
involved in three cup finals at Twickenham.

He joined Bath Rugby in May 2001 as a part time Community Coach and
has headed up the Foundation since November 2003. An RFU Level
three qualified coach, he has coached the successful Bath Rugby
Ladies team.

 Caryl Thomas

Foundation Inclusion Manager - View profile

Caryl born in West Wales joined the Bath Rugby team in 2008
as a community coach delivering tag rugby across BaNES.

A keen rugby player and RFU Level 2 coach, she has gained
Welsh National honours playing in the Six Nations and the
2010 Women’s World Cup. With the expansion of Bath Rugby
Foundation she now leads the Inclusion Project and the
Volunteer/Bursary & Apprenticeship scheme for the charity.

Since qualifying as an NVQ Assessor in 2010, the Foundation
run an apprenticeship scheme, where young students are trained
to become qualified and competent coaches within the community.

Catt Davidson 

Foundation project leader - View profile

Catherine has been involved with the Bath Rugby Foundation
since 2010 when she started on the apprenticeship; where she
coached in projects such as Up&Unders, AVIVA tag, Inclusion
and many other foundation projects.

Catherine played rugby for Walcott a local team from a young age
and has progressed through to England talent development group for
u18’s as well as representing at both regional and county levels
whilst playing club rugby for Bath Ladies.

 Sophie Gover 

Foundation Fitness/Administrator - View profile

Sophie was born and bred in Bath and has always had a keen interest
in a variety of sports, currently training and competing in triathlon.
Sophie has a voluntary position assisting the Foundation across a range of
administrative duties. Since completing MSc Sports Science at Loughborough
University and subsequently gaining accreditation as a Sports Nutritionist
and Personal Trainer, Sophie is also currently developing Foundation
Fitness with the Bath Rugby Foundation and the local community.

Joe Aygul 

Foundation Apprentice - View profile

Having lived in Bath all his life, Joe has played rugby with a
passion from a young age for a variety of local teams, as well
as representing and captaining his side at county level.

During his studies at 6th form, Joe was also a member of the
Foundation’s Bursary programme which enabled him to commit
to to develop his coaching skills and gain experience within
the industry. In September 2012 he then progressed on to
become a Foundation apprentice and is now a full-time member
of the Foundation team, working on projects involving Inclusion
disability coaching, Up&Unders, HITZ and the School of Tag programme.
On completion of the apprenticeship, Joe will be a fully qualified
UKCC Level 1 Rugby Union coach and will have gained an NVQ level 2
in Activity Leadership.

Henry Polson 

Foundation Apprentice - View profile

Having been born and bred in Bath, Henry has played rugby for
a number of years including school and the Bath Rugby youth team.
Henry moved onto Millfield School where he completed a BTEC Diploma in
Sport in his A level years. Over time he has gained a passion for
volunteering and coaching through a number of opportunities.

During the summer he volunteered for the Foundations ‘Up & Unders’
programme helping out children aged 2 to 7 with gross motor skill.
Henry is now full time on the Apprenticeship scheme. He will be
working on projects involving Inclusion disability coaching,
Up&Unders, HITZ and the School of Tag programme. On completion of
the apprenticeship, Henry will be a fully qualified UKCC Level 1
Rugby Union coach and will have gained an NVQ level 2 in Activity Leadership.

Vicky Heslop 

Foundation Education Manager - View profile

Vicky has been involved with the Foundation since she began
as a volunteer in 2005, and has worked full time since 2007.
Working in the Foundation team makes every day an exciting
challenge, and no two days are ever the same. Vicky particularly
enjoys the buzz of helping children across a wide range of ages
to discover new abilities they didn’t know they had.
She is a trained teacher and also a qualified interpreter and translator.
An RFU Level 2 coach, she also plays for Bath Rugby Ladies
and is proud to have represented them over 100 times.

Faith Mceleny 

Foundation Apprentice - View profile

Faith moved to the area aged 8, with a keen rugby family,
she started playing aged 11.
Having since played for various girls squads,she is now starting her first senior season with Bath Rugby Ladies.
Having started volunteering at 16,Faith has been involved
in a variety of projects such as ‘Up&Unders ’,‘HITZ ’ and
school of tag as well as numerous other projects.
After completing the apprenticeship faith will have a full
RFU level 1 qualification and a NVQ level 2 in Activity Leadership.

Stephen Barber - HITZ Officiar - View profile

Stephen was born and raised in Newbury Berkshire where he enjoyed
playing his rugby for Newbury Blues before moving to bath at the age
of 12. On moving to Bath Stephen attended St.Laurance School in
Bradford on Avon and has been playing rugby at various clubs in
the area, now playing his senior rugby at Chippenham RFC.

Stephen joined the Bath Rugby Foundation team back in May 2011 where
he was enrolled onto the PRL Future Jobs Fund programme to help
unemployed young people get back into work. From April 2012 Stephen
has taken on the roll to project manage the PRL national funded HITZ
project.

The project helps young people to steer away from antisocial behaviour
and exclusion getting 16-19 year old NEETs (not in education, employment
or training) back into work opportunities.

Stephen is RFU Level 2 qualified coach
