Bath Rugby fans helped change the lives of thousands of vulnerable young people during the 2018-19 season.

Bath Rugby Foundation, the club’s charity, raises money at the club’s home matches though donations and a matchday shirt raffle.

The Foundation exists because young people are not being given an equal chance to succeed and works to empower young people to create a better future for themselves through a variety of sports and activities. All the money donated to the Foundation will help support the charity’s ambition to help to change young lives in and around Bath.

The Foundation uses the values of rugby to inspire young people to create a healthier, positive future for themselves, focusing on improving Education, Employability and Inclusion.

In total more than £37,000 was raised at Bath Rugby home matches – including The Clash and League matches at the Rec - which helped fund 42,900 coaching hours delivered in the local community by Bath Rugby Foundation staff in the local community.

In total the Foundation team worked with - and helped change the lives of - more than 3,200 vulnerable young people.

Bath Rugby Foundation CEO, Lynne Fernquest, said: “The support of Bath Rugby and the club’s wonderful supporters means we are able to work with thousands of children and young people every year.

“Every year Bath Rugby Foundation works with youngsters who’ve had the toughest start in life. The children we work with are born into poverty, have a Special Educational Need or Disability, or are excluded because of their race or gender.

“As Government funding for youth support services continues to be cut, less and less support is now available for the rising number of youngsters who need it. Vulnerable children aren’t falling through the net – there is no net.

“This is where we step in – thanks to the generosity of Bath Rugby’s supporters.”

Would you like to support Bath Rugby Foundation?

There are many ways in which you can support Bath Rugby's charity, ranging from donating money or attending one of our events to volunteering your time or taking part in a fundraiser.

Keep an eye on our Events Calendar for our upcoming fundraisers. The page is updated regularly.

Our next big event is The Rec Sleep Out - we'd love it if as many Bath Rugby supporters as possible joined us for a night under the stars at the home of your favourite rugby club!

If you are active (or need a goal to help become more active) we are looking for runners to take part in next year's Bath Half Marathon. We have training support for anyone who has never run that far, so don't be put off by the distance.

For cyclists, our annual continental adventure takes place in Mallorca in October. Sign up to take part in Ride Mallorca here.

And if you like your fundraising to take place at a slower pace, we host the Bath Rugby Walk with Dorothy House every year to coincide with a Six Nations match. Here's what happened in March this year.

We are always on the lookout for new volunteers. If you would like to give up an hour or two to help change young lives, please get in touch.
