Dear Bath Rugby Foundation Runner,

You may or may not have heard the news about the postponement of the Bath Half Marathon, which was due to take place on September 5th 2021, and is now taking place on March 13th, 2022. We were as disappointed as you were to receive this news today but we are committed to supporting you to have the best possible experience in the lead up to the event and on the day itself.

The Bath Half is a much-loved event that raises vital funds for charities across the city, we are confident when it returns it will be bigger and better than ever before.

We know you have been training and fundraising and this must be a blow to you. Our team have been working behind the scenes to ensure we could deliver a full race day experience in line with whatever the Covid-19 restrictions may have been in September, and we would like to reassure you that your place is deferred and secured for the new March 2022 date.

While this situation is totally out of our control, our sense of responsibility to you, our incredible runners, remains the same, and for this reason we are focusing on the positives that we can draw from this situation:

·         Longer training time for those who are new to running or looking to beat a PB

·         More fundraising opportunities to support Bath Rugby Foundation

·         A bigger and better event with fewer Covid-19 restrictions

·         The opportunity of massage for injury prevention and recovery

·         More perks for you from our ambassadors and partners

There will be runners who are unable to make the new date but will still be keen to support Bath Rugby Foundation and run the race virtually. These runners will still have full access to all the advantages of the charity package including Limited Edition Blue Black & White vest, participation in our Facebook group, which includes exclusive events, top training tips from our running and sporting coaches, and recipes from Bath Rugby and England Chef, Michael Bache.

We are keen to support you throughout your Bath Half Marathon journey and would like to thank you once again, from the bottom of our hearts, for running in support of Bath Rugby Foundation and the vital work it does with disadvantaged children and young people in our community. The difference you make by continuing to train and fundraise is literally life changing for the young people that we work with. Proudly wearing your Blue, Black & White vest on training runs helps to build awareness of our work.

We are looking forward to finally welcoming you on March 13th , 2022 and in the meantime, working with you to make every step of the journey to race day as fun and rewarding as possible.

Please keep us posted on your training runs and plans so that we can share your incredible achievements across all our social media platforms.

Best Wishes

The Bath Rugby Foundation Team
