Bath Rugby Foundation is part of the Action Against Child Poverty Campaign, a ground-breaking initiative launched in 2015 by St John’s Foundation with a coalition of partner organisations, after local authority statistics revealed that one in five children in Bath and the surrounding area of North East Somerset live below the poverty line.

Due to Bath’s reputation as an affluent city many find it hard to understand or even imagine that poverty exists, but within Bath and North East Somerset pockets of deprivation exist in some parts of Twerton/Whiteway, Keynsham and Norton Radstock

In 2018, Bath Rugby Foundation joined the Lifestyle Change Project delivery team.

The Lifestyle Change Project is a three-year targeted programme to reduce child poverty in Bath and North East Somerset. Working with over 80 families from locations in Foxhill, Radstock, Keynsham and Peasedown-St-John, the programme had over 2,000 attendances throughout 2017, and has been continuing its important work throughout 2018.

The organisations who are working together to deliver AACP's work are Sporting Family Change, Southside Family Project, Wansdyke Play Association, SWALLOW Charity - South West Action for Learning & Living Our Way, Mentoring Plus and Off The Record Bath & NES.

We also work alongside Wesport by delivering our Street Active sessions in and around Bath. Wesport fund the sessions and we work with them to make sport more accessible and remove the barriers and costs of travel.
