A practical and engaging course providing learners with the knowledge and skills to plan, prepare and deliver a safe and effective activity and fitness session for a group of participants. 

The course will include lots of practical sport and fitness sessions, with learners will developing both technique and confidence. This will also give learners an insight into the fitness.

The overall focus will be promoting a healthy and active lifestyle for all.

At Bath Rugby Foundation we offer a range of HITZ course, delivered in partnership with SCL Education.

HITZ is the UK’s largest rugby union social inclusion programme working with over 2,000 16-24-year olds across England.

Funded by sponsors Land Rover and Wooden Spoon, HITZ is Premiership Rugby's flagship education and employability programme, which works with over 2,000 young people across England every year.

This course provides progression onto Level 2 certificate in Gym instructing and Level 2 certificate in group training.

This short course, running from September to February, contains three units:

  • Unit 1 – Promoting healthy lifestyles and physical activity
  • Unit 2 – Planning an activity session
  • Unit 3 – Delivering an activity Session

Assessment will be through coursework, a portfolio of evidence and practical demonstrations.
