Rugby meets football on Tuesday (23rd July), as Bath Rugby take on Bath City in a one-off 20-over cricket match at Bath Cricket Club

With the Cricket World Cup having come to a close last weekend, this is your chance to see whether Bath’s finest can follow in the footsteps of the likes of Ben Stokes, Joe Root, Jofra Archer, who guided England to their first triumph on the biggest stage of them all.

Director of Rugby Stuart Hooper will join the likes of Luke Charteris, Lee Mears and Girvan Dempsey in donning the whites against their city rivals, whose team will include Manager Jerry Gill and first team players Adam Mann and Ryan Brunt.

Entry to the game, which starts at 5.30pm, is free with all donations on the evening going towards the Bath Rugby and Bath City Foundations.

Hooper said: “The game is a great opportunity to unite the city of Bath for two great causes. Having been part of the Club for the last decade, I’ve witnessed first-hand the lasting impact that the Bath Rugby Foundation has had on the lives of thousands of vulnerable young people in the city.

“It would be great to see the Bath Rugby and Bath City supporters turn out in force and help us through the 20 overs, as picking up a bat and ball doesn’t come naturally to a lot of us.”

Bath City Manager, Jerry Gill, added: “We are excited to promote this unique chance to come along and see the city of Bath's three big sporting organisations coming together for a charity cricket match.

“All proceeds will be shared between the Bath City Foundation and Bath Rugby Foundation to continue the invaluable work in the community in the city and further afield.”
