The Bath Rugby Foundation Cycle Club (BRFCC) is one of the biggest cycle clubs in the region, with 133 members and counting.

The all abilities club was officially formed in May 2018, but has been running as a social cycling group for five years, raising over £300,000 for the Bath Rugby Foundation in this time.

BRFCC arranges weekend cycles throughout the year, but also arrange mid-week evening rides from April to September to make the most of the lighter summer evenings.

The club start cycling from various locations in the region including Bath, Corsham, Bradford on Avon, Rode, West Lavington and Warminster, to allow as many members as possible to attend.

To accommodate all ability levels, from beginners to more experienced cyclists, members are often split into three groups to ensure that no one is left behind!

Weekend cycles can gather a group of 30 to 40 cyclists, making it a great opportunity to socialise whilst admiring the fantastic scenery in the region.

Over 400 people have taken part in numerous events since 2013, covering hundreds of thousands of miles, with 250,000 covered in the last 12 months alone.

Every year, members of the BRFCC undertake an annual challenge to raise awareness and money for the Bath Rugby Foundation. Previous events have involved cycling from John O’Groats to Land’s End, where cyclists completed 969 miles in nine days, as well as The Giant Cause Bike Ride in 2016, the ‘French 400’ in Normandy in 2017 and The Giro di Toscana in Italy in 2018. Planning for September 2019's cycling adventure is already well underway, with Spain the destination for Ride Mallorca.

Members are able to buy a bespoke cycling shirt, available in the Bath Rugby Shop, alongside a variety of BRFCC apparel, including shorts, gilets, socks, gloves and water bottles. All BRFCC kit is supplied by Scimitar Sport, who have supported Bath Rugby Foundation since the first annual challenge.

The club also has Cycle Club insurance with British Cycling.

The BRFCC is a fantastic social opportunity for keen cyclists in and around Bath, especially as there is always a coffee stop en route!

Anyone who has a passion for cycling, is keen on improving their fitness levels and most importantly, who want to enjoy themselves, we would like for you to get involved with the Bath Rugby Foundation Cycling Club.
