As a Senior Foundation Coach who started out as a participant on a Foundation course 7 years ago, I know how big an impact the Foundation can have and how important the work we do is.

I had been unemployed for four years and struggling personally. I was a broken-down car when I met the Foundation and the Foundation fixed me. It personally meant the world to me that someone believed in me at the time.

As a Senior Foundation Coach, I use my past experience of being a participant as motivation by focusing on helping others as a coach because I know the impact that Bath Rugby Foundation has had on my own life and how much it can make a difference.

In April 2018, when the Bath Rugby squad ran out at The Clash they did so with images of 15 inspiring Foundation individuals on their shirts – I was one of those individuals. It was amazing experience and something I don’t want to forget, but to me the shirt and the day was about the Foundation and telling everyone what we do because fundraising is so important. It's simple to explain: The more money we raise the more young people we can work with.

Personally, the Foundation means everything to me. I know I wouldn’t be in the position I am without it and that was down to Foundation spending time and money on me to support me on my journey. I don’t like to think about where I would be without it.

For this reason, I've decided to face my FEAR of cycling by taking part in Ride Mallorca. When I was 8 years old I was hit by a car when cycling outside my house, ever since that moment I've been terrified of cycling.

But I'm determined to face this fear head on and raise as much money as possible for the Foundation because I want to say THANK YOU, plus raise as much money as possible so the FANTASTIC COACHES can work with more young people like me in the future.
