HITZ Learning Academy HITZ is our award-winning alternative education / employability provision for 16 to 19 year olds who are considered NEET - not in employment, education or training. HITZ mixes sport with classroom-based learning and enables young adults who are in danger of falling through the net to look ahead at a brighter future. During the last 10 years over 75% of our HITZ students have moved onto employment, apprenticeships or returned to full-time education. Hi5! Club Hi5! Club develops healthy routines, confidence in physical activity, social skills and a sense of belonging. It is a bespoke pathway for children and young people aged 7-25 with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to become independent within the community in Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES). Established in 2006, it’s grown from being the only multi-sports club to offering golf, rugby, schools provision and social and competitive events. The aim is to break down barriers which prevent SEND children and young people from being active, fit, independent and socialising and to introduce them to a range of opportunities that challenge their mindset and raises aspirations, to encourage them out of their comfort zone. Education Programmes – Primary & Secondary Schools Raising the Game (RTG) is an education programme targeting pupils struggling to engage with lessons or school itself and who exhibit poor behaviour & work avoidance, resulting in teachers reporting incidents. RTG runs in schools, building positive experiences, engagement and confidence and develops a pupil’s growth mindset and the life skills to enable them to re-engage positively and independently back into classroom and manage their emotions. RTG equips pupils with a developed awareness of their emotions and behaviours as well as building long-term resilience. RTG improves pupils attendance, academic grades and overall behaviour and friendships.
