This is my first attempt at trying to run a half marathon - in fact, at trying to run any sort of distance at all!! I am starting from scratch in November on the Couch to 5K programme - the first step was getting out the door in the dark and cold and getting that first 1K run in - I have a long way to go!

I want to support a local Bath charity, especially one that utilises the skills and benefits of team sports to help develop young people. Playing sports are an essential part of growing up, not just because they keep you fit, but because they teach basic skills which you will likely use every day for the rest of your life such as teamwork, perseverance and positive mental attitude to name a few. This is just the tip of the iceberg of the work the Bath Rugby Foundation do to support young people and the below link provides more detail if you want to know more:

I hope you will consider supporting me in my first attempt to run a half marathon with a donation, no matter how big or small, and come March (fingers crossed) I will hopefully have transitioned from a couch potato to a Half Marathon finisher! Ashleigh Ward
