Walcot Under 16’s Mixed Ability is our newest session under our Hi5! provision, fitting in with Hi5!’s aims and objectives to help participants with different needs and disabilities learn and develop life skills, independence, and provide social opportunities out in the community. Our U16’s sessions give participants of a younger age the chance to be physically active and play rugby regardless of ability, make friends and become part of a team.

With an increase of child obesity in the UK and the effects COVID 19 has had on children by disrupting structure and social opportunities, our Under 16’s Mixed Ability Rugby offers participants of a younger age the opportunity to become physically active and improve health both physically and mentally, whilst making new friends, being part of a team and providing experiences and opportunities that children with SEND may not find so easy to access.

Walcot Under 16’s Mixed Ability is for children 9-15 years of age, open to all abilities including those with SEND, who are looking to make new friends, be physically active and try a new sport.

Our Under 16’s Mixed Ability sessions are held on Wednesdays, 5.30pm – 6.30pm at Walcot RFC, BA1 9BJ during term time.

All sessions include fun inclusive physical activities and rugby for all abilities and are a great way for children to learn and develop life and social skills by meeting new people and being out in the community.
