Bath Rugby Foundation’s Sports Leaders course will help you build on the skills you already have and build new life skills through leadership.

Using sport as the vehicle for learning and development, participants learn and demonstrate important life skills such as effective communication and organisation while learning to lead basic physical activities to younger people, their peers, older generations and within the community.

The Level 1 Sports Leadership programme is part of Project Rugby programme funded by Premiership Rugby and Gallagher.

Throughout the programme Young People will be supported by Bath Rugby Foundation coaches who will mentor and support them to developing personal life skills not just a qualification.

What will participants get out of the course?

This course will take participants on a journey to gain life skills that will improve:

  • Ability to communicate with others
  • Self-esteem and confidence in your own ability
  • Ability to work with others as part of a team
  • Skills needed to manage your own work and personal development
  • Ability to identify problems and what to do to problem solve
  • In achieving all these through this course you will be better prepared for your next steps in education and/or getting a job.
