Following on from the success of our Summer Break Out programme in 2020, we are committed to making our 2021 Break Out even bigger and better, allowing us to support even more families within our local community. We need to raise vital funds (minimum £4,200) in order to deliver this 'big vision', so have therefore launched a month long Aviva Community Fund Crowdfunder Campaign, to help achieve our fundraising target.

What is an Aviva Community Fund Crowdfunder?

Aviva Community Fund has run for over four years, it helps thousands of small charities and good causes build stronger communities across the UK.

Aviva employees distribute £250,000 of Aviva Community Fund every quarter, each individually picking projects that matter to them.

To enhance this opportunity, Aviva have recently teamed up with Crowdfunder to give charities and community interest companies the opportunity to further build their capabilities, drive sustainable fundraising and leverage the Aviva workforce to get the best and brightest of ideas off the ground by allowing charities like ours to extend the invitation to support to their own networks and audiences, in order to maximise on this unique fundraising opportunity.

What is Break Out?

Break Out - allows children and young people, as well as their families, to enjoy fun games and activities in a safe environment and crucially, they will also be able to enjoy a free, healthy cooked meal.

In 2020 we piloted Summer Break Out over the school holidays which was a huge success. In response to demand, COVID-19 and further struggles that families are facing, we extended this to include the Christmas holiday.

Our aim now is to make Break Out a year-round programme of FREE multi-agency Community Hubs in the areas of highest need, supporting key vulnerable families, across Bath and North East Somerset (B&NES). Many of the families receive Free School Meals, are on low incomes or supporting children with additional needs. Each hub supports with play, crafts, sports, free hot nutritious food, cooking lessons, take away food parcels and some much-needed parental down time.

Advice and signposts are also available where needed to additional support services in the area.

Break Out supports on two levels. Firstly, with children / young people and families immediate needs around food insecurity & wellbeing. Secondly developing growth mindsets, skills & networks providing a framework for positive future steps including sign posting to job coaches, citizens advice bureau, career advisers etc.

The hubs are based in the areas of most need across Bath & North East Somerset and provide safe spaces for children, parents and carers to connect.

How can you support us?

Like, Donate, Share

  • 'Like' - Please 'like' and save our social media posts about our Aviva Community Fund Crowdfunder campaign, (this will not only help to give us much needed encouragement but will also help us challenge social algorithms; allowing our campaign to be seen by a much larger audience.)
  • 'Donate' - It sounds cliche but every penny really does count! Please support us in any way that you can, by making a donation of any size; each donation is greatly appreciated!

(See donation link at the bottom of this page)

  •  'Share' -  It's true what they say 'sharing really is caring'. Please help us to spread the word! If we could reach 4200 people and each person donated £1, we would quickly reach our target.

Thank you
