I should start by saying unequivocally, I really dislike running.

I signed up last year to run my first half marathon, in my hometown of Bath. My wife Simona had completed hers a few years prior, I was not getting any younger and I really wanted to get one under my belt. If I was going to run the distance I thought I should make it for someone else's benefit so raised money for the Bath Rugby Foundation, I got the training in, put in the miles through wind, rain, sleet and snow but for the first time ever the BathHalf 2018 was cancelled due to the snow! I was pretty gutted as so much work had been put in, but also a toiny bit relieved as I had picked up an injury in training a couple weeks before that was still causing me pain. The injury persisted and I never got to run an alternative, in all fairness I didn't want to, I signed up to run the BathHalf and I had put my mind to it....

So as soon as applications opened in the Summer I signed up again, determined. It went without saying that as soon as I signed up I decided to raise money again for my local charity, the gang at the Foundation do incredible work and give so much support to their runners and fundraisers, its a real family feel effort.

So this year, I've thrown my hat in the ring again, training has started (its even worse than I remember!) but I will cross that line in 2019 and I will be doing it not only for my personal goals but also to help a wonderful charity on my doorstep.

So please donate and sponsor me to raise money for the Bath Rugby Foundation Ryan Hanson
