Latest news Mixed Ability Rugby Chippenham Cavaliers celebrate one year as a team The Chippenham Cavaliers, established in January 2024 as a mixed ability rugby team at Chippenham RFC, have marked a remarkable first year, achieving significant milestones and fostering inclusivity in the sport. In collaboration with Bath Rugby Foundation, the Cavaliers have created an inclusive environment welcoming players of all abilities aged 16 and above. Over the past year, the team has attracted more than sixty participants, reflecting the growing interest and commitment to mixed ability rugby in the region. Under the leadership of Huw Solly and with the support of dedicated volunteers, the Cavaliers have not only focused on training but have also engaged in competitive play. Notably, they have had the opportunity to play at prestigious venues such as The Rec and Twickenham during the Premiership final, providing unforgettable experiences for the players and highlighting the team's rapid development. The team's commitment to inclusivity and community engagement was further demonstrated during their end-of-season awards night on 25th May 2024. This event celebrated the achievements of both the mixed ability and walking rugby teams, acknowledging the dedication and progress of all participants.
