Work with Us Community Officer Vacancy Community Officer Job Details Job Title: Community Officer Contract Type: Full Time, Fixed Term (2 years) Hours: 37.5 hours per week Salary Band: £27,000 - £33,000 (based on experience) Reporting To: Community Manager Responsible For: Community Coaches Locations: Various sites across BANES, Somerset and Wiltshire Role overview The Community Officer role is pivotal in bridging operational delivery with strategic goals. Alongside delivering impactful coaching sessions, the Community Officer is responsible for ensuring programme efficiency, leading by example, and maintaining high standards across the Foundation's initiatives. Requirements A valid UK Driving Licence and vehicle is required due to travel across multiple community sites Current safeguarding and first aid (or willing to update) Coaching qualification (e.g. NGB Level 2) and/or qualifications relevant to youth work and mentoring. Key responsibilities Leadership & People Management Lead by example in delivery, setting the standard for quality, energy, and inclusivity across the coaching team. Line management of Community Coaches and provide mentoring to maintain high standards. Ensure coaching practices reflect the Foundation’s values and standards. Programme Quality & Delivery Accountable for high-quality, engaging delivery that meets participant and partner needs. Coordinate festivals and community events for smooth and effective execution. Work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, to deliver programmes at rugby festivals and Bath Rugby home games. Lead the planning and event-day coordination of Foundation festivals, tournaments, and community showcase events. Safeguarding, Risk & Compliance Ensure sessions are delivered in alignment with risk assessments and safeguarding practices. Collaborate with the Community Manager to uphold health and safety regulations. Record and enter safeguarding concerns into MyConcern daily. Lead anti-bullying practices within the Community Team. Ensure staff adhere to individual risk assessments. Partnerships & Profile Liaise with external partners and schools to maximise attendance and provide positive participant experiences. Professionally represent the Foundation at community forums, network meetings, and promotional events. Impact & Data Management Collect completed surveys and ensure accurate record-keeping in the central impact spreadsheet. Maintain Upshot registers and user profiles for reporting purposes. General Responsibilities Undertake additional responsibilities as directed by the Community Manager or Senior Leadership Team.
