Bath Rugby’s first home pre-season match at the Rec in four years will also see funds raised for Bath Rugby Foundation as teams from across city put their strength to the test ahead of kick off.

Tickets are now on sale for the fixture, which sees the Blue, Black and White host Pro 14 finalists Scarlets on Friday 24th August.

With the Gallagher Premiership season kicking off a week later against Bristol Bears at Ashton Gate, this will be the first chance to see the likes of Jamie Roberts, Will Chudley and Joe Cokanasiga in action in Bath Rugby colours at the Rec.

And there will be the chance to get your Bank Holiday off to a flying start before the game begins, as the outfield hosts Bath’s biggest Tug of War competition – Battle of the Ropes. For an extra £2 on your adult match ticket, put your strength to the test to see who reigns supreme.

Round up your friends, work colleagues and family with teams of eight going head-to-head in the battle to win the coveted golden rope starting at 6pm. All entry fees for Battle of the Ropes will be donated to Bath Rugby Foundation – the Club’s charitable arm, which aims to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children and young people in and around Bath.

As you can see from the video below, the Bath Rugby Foundation team are taking it seriously, and have asked the strongest man they know, Bath and England's David Trick, for help.

The main event, which kicks off at 7.30pm, will form a part of the first ever double header with Bath Ladies, as the Championship South League winners also lock horns with Scarlets at 4pm.

Make it a Bank Holiday to remember with 160 minutes of top-class rugby, Battle of the Ropes, Live Music and a wide range of food and drink all waiting for you at the Rec.

Adult tickets cost just £10 (£12 with Battle of the Ropes) and £5 for children. Secure your tickets and entry to Battle of the Ropes by visiting www.bathrugby.com/tickets  or calling 0844 448 1865
